To My Valued Customers and Friends: As many of you know, Soul Burgers was reopened this year and then closed again recently. This was due to some unforeseen professional and personal setbacks that have transpired in my life this year. By the grace of God, He pulled me through it all, and for this I am very thankful. Soul Burgers will always hold a special place in my heart, and especially because you were a part of that dream and its success. Well, it is that time of the year when I feed the homeless and others who may come by for Thanksgiving. This is my opportunity to share the love of God to those less fortunate than me and to have some time to laugh and talk with them, letting them know that someone cares about them. Soul Burgers was started because of this and I have always wanted the city of Huntsville to know of my love for them and how I wanted to help them if they were in need of food or just a warm smile. Please know that even though Soul Burgers is no longer in existence, I still want to express my love for people in need. This is where you can take part in sharing the love. I know that this is late getting out to you, but I am really soliciting your support with this effort. Time is of the essence and we will have to make haste in getting things pulled together. Here is what I would like to do this year. My goal is, of course, to provide food for those in need, and also to give out gloves and hats to the children. The following food items will be needed for the meals:
I will need these items, along with the gloves and hats for the children by no later than next Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Again, I know that this is last minute and may seem like an impossible request with Thanksgiving being less than two weeks away, but I believe that with God’s help we can do this if we pull together. If you are able to assist me, please contact Matt and Molly (256-527-4563) at the Trinity Church (off Airport Road), or you can call me (256-348-0486). I am calling on those of you who love God, other people, Soul Burgers, and me to help me with this project. Let’s dig deep to show our love for our fellow man and for the little children who are in need. The gloves and hats will warm some child who otherwise will be shivering in the cold this year, and the food will give hope and nourishment to those who are lacking. The old Soul Burgers is gone, but there is a new Cathy who is letting God lead her into new areas in her life, and I pray that we can keep this wonderful thing going that we started together. Don’t let this dream of feeding the homeless die just because Soul Burgers is no longer here. Let’s keep the memory of Soul Burgers alive by starting a new path together with even more love for others, and let us begin today. I really appreciate your support, friendship, and kindness through the years. You have never let me down and I thank you so much with all of my heart and soul. May you all have a wonderful and blessed Holiday Season. Much Love,
Cathy Briggs, |
